What kind of problems should I expect using an unlocked Cingular Motorola?
Looking to buy a Motorola PEBL unlocked to use my account with Cingular GSM. Would I have enough problems to make me regret buying? I only use voice telephony. No text messaging or Internet. Thank you.
You should not have many problems. Because the PEBL is a quad-band, have access Cingular to all sites. The problem will arise when the phone is updated. Cingular sends its modifications to the phone through the air. This means basically you do not call something, the phone only get what you need. Now, because with no proprietary software Cingular, the phone will not update properly. This will lead to calls frequent falls and problems receiving the signal. I even seen non-unlocked phones make and receive calls on the Cingular network. There was a network problem because a telephone Cingular regularly worked great. They must realize that because it is not a device for Cingular, which can not guarantee that its service will work.
