Terms of Service
Effective date: April 2, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By creating an account or using the Portable Admin website or Windows client software (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including free-tier and paid subscribers.
2. AI-Generated Scripts — Critical Disclaimer
All diagnostic and remediation scripts presented to you through the Service are generated by frontier AI language models, including but not limited to models provided by Anthropic, OpenAI, and similar providers. These models are probabilistic systems. The accuracy, safety, completeness, and suitability of any AI-generated script for your specific machine and situation cannot be guaranteed.
Portable Admin provides you with a script review interface. Every script is displayed to you in full before it runs. You have the ability to read, reject, or modify the proposed script. When you click the “Approve” button, you are making an explicit, informed, and voluntary decision to execute that script on your machine. That click is your acknowledgment that:
- You have reviewed the script and understand what it does to the best of your ability.
- You accept sole and personal responsibility for the consequences of executing that script, including any data loss, system changes, or other outcomes.
- You understand that the script was generated by an AI and has not been individually reviewed, tested, or certified by Portable Admin or any of its operators.
Portable Admin provides the review mechanism. You make the decision. We are not a party to the execution of any script beyond giving you the means to inspect and approve it.
3. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PORTABLE ADMIN AND ITS OPERATORS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant that the AI-generated output will be accurate, safe, or suitable for your needs. The AI models used by the Service may produce incorrect, incomplete, or dangerous output. You assume full risk associated with any use of the Service and any script you choose to execute.
4. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PORTABLE ADMIN, ITS OPERATORS, OWNERS, AFFILIATES, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR EXECUTION OF ANY AI-GENERATED SCRIPT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Data loss or data corruption
- System damage, hardware damage, or corrupted operating system installations
- Application or software failures
- Business interruption or loss of revenue
- Loss of profits, goodwill, or anticipated savings
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages
THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY UNDER WHICH DAMAGES ARE SOUGHT, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE.
If applicable law does not allow the complete exclusion or limitation of liability, our liability shall be limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) CAD $50.
5. Acceptable Use
You may only use the Service on machines you own or have explicit authorization to administer. You must not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service. You must not attempt to circumvent usage limits, access other users’ data, reverse-engineer the Service, or use it to deliver malicious code to any system.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and that you have the necessary rights and permissions to modify any system on which you execute an approved script.
6. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we determine in our sole discretion that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive conduct, or used the Service in a way that poses a risk to us or to other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
You may close your account at any time by contacting support@portableadmin.com. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund for any prepaid subscription fees.
7. Billing and Subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis via Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on each renewal date. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are issued at our sole discretion and generally only in cases of billing errors.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, software, design, and branding of the Service are the property of Portable Admin and its operators, protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our express written permission.
9. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice in the Service at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, Canada, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
